VEJA SNEAKERS REVIEW

Happy Monday everybody! Be honest, did you know it was Monday….lol?!? Our days are all off. The sneaker trend is still in full force so I thought I’d continue sharing my final thoughts on some of the ones I own and today I wanted to give my final full review on my Veja sneakers. I fell in love with these online and had to order them. Let’s see how they worked out.

SIZING + FIT

These run big. I had to place a second order for a full size smaller. I ended up with a women’s 5 and I am true size 6.5. So, they run big for sure even with socks. The width is perfect, not too narrow or too wide. They are roomie but not loose once you have the right size.

COMFORT

This sneaker doesn’t have a ton of extra comfort added to it but the shoe itself is actually comfortable. The issue with comfort is the tongue. It’s very stiff and I have to move it to the side when I am wearing these sneakers. Once the tongue is moved to the side there are no issues. With that said, I took these to NYC with me recently and my feet did start to hurt by the end of the day. Keep in mind we were walking the city all day and on our feet all day, so I think that is to be expected. So, if you took away the tongue issue, I’d consider these a fairly comfortable sneaker even with how simply designed they are.

QUALITY

Here is where I am probably most disappointed with these sneakers. They are already starting to look “worn” and old. When I compare them after wear to my other sneakers they aren’t holding up nearly as well. I think it has to do with the stiffer leather that they use paired with the natural movement of wearing them. They develop creases similar to dress shoes, which to me just look odd.

SOCKS OR NO SOCKS?

I prefer to wear socks with these, just make them no show of course. I also think a sock helps with the comfort as well.

PROS + CONS

PROS:

More affordable

Unique style

Lots of color options

CONS:

Stiffness

Tongue issue

Creasing with wear

There it is y’all. My final thoughts. I still like the look of these sneakers and will continue to wear them, but they wouldn’t be my first choice when it comes to this sneaker trend. With that said, y’all know I like options and am glad I have this style to reach for from time to time. So, will you be adding these to your collection? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I bought these and returned them for all the reasons you outlined . To me they weren’t worth the price for the discomfort
