Mother’s Day 2018

“A child born to another woman calls me mommy. The magnitude of that tragedy & the depth of that privilege are not lost on me” ~Jody Landers

It is times like these that it truly hits me how grateful I am for these little munchkins. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for them every day, but a few special days a year it truly hits me. I will admit the process wasn’t easy. When you learn the facts of their life before us it is easy to be mad, even angry at their birth family, but deep down I am so thankful to them. Maybe it’s the struggles they went through their first years of life that make me even more grateful that they found their way to us. Here we are almost five years later and I still remember the day we met. They were just as scared as we were, but it just felt right and we weren’t going to give up on them. Those first six or so months were rough, but all the struggles were worth it. It is because of those struggles that I can truly say I’ve earned the title of their Mother, or as they call me…Mommy and for that I am truly grateful.

Happy Mother’s Day

Whether you are a Fur Baby Mother, Foster Mother, Step Mother, Bereaved Mother or any other type of Mother out there. Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you know how truly special you are and how loved you are.

The boys outfits were provided by Janie and Jack. Photography by Kathryn Ann Photographie.
